Georgia Austin, passed away at her home while living with Stinkie, daughter and Lynn Caldwell friend and caretaker in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at the age of 81.
She was born in Mason, Oklahoma on October 13, 1927 to George and Lavell Diacon. She married Raymond Austin on September 19, 1945. They made their home briefly in Dustin and later made their home at various locations in Oklahoma while following Mr. Austin’s work in the oil field industry. They made their home at Sulphur for several years until moving to Pawhuska in 1963. Mrs. Austin was the office manager of the Calumet Oil Company until her retirement and was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Wynona.
She is survived by two daughters, Glenda Austin of Bartlesville and Judy Roberts and her husband Lindy of Pawhuska, two grandchildren, Tommy Ray Dancer of Broken Arrow and Tamie Hollister and her husband Darin of Pawhuska, five great grandchildren, Ryan and Trent Hollister of Pawhuska, and Tye,
Kylie and Dax Dancer of Broken Arrow, two step grandchildren, Mike Roberts of Pawnee and Staci Bergman of Newkirk, five sisters, LaJean Shannon of Mill Creek, Loretta Goodin of Wetumka, Susie Miller of Chickasha, Barbara Huckleberry of Valiant, and Joan Osborn of Wetumka, and sister-in-laws, Francis Diacon of Sulpher, Onita Price of Eufaula, Mary Barber of Muskogee, Faye Bisbee of Atwood, and Aunice Bisbee of Artesia, New Mexico, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Mrs. Austin was also preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond on February 1, 2007, her brother Glen Diacon and her sister Treva Pruitt.
Funeral services for Mrs. Austin will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, August 31, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Pawhuska with Pastor David Boyer and Rev. Bill Lay officiating. Interment will be in the Pawhuska City Cemetery beside her beloved husband under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville until 9 P.M. on Sunday.
