James Mae (Lynch) Edwards was born May 26, 1919 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of James and Anna Mae Lynch. James Mae attended the Sapulpa school systems in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. She later relocated to Pawhuska, Oklahoma where she met Rush Edwards Jr. II. It was there that they were married on February 10, 1947. This union was blessed with eleven children. Her husband and three children preceded her in death: Loretta Ann Edwards, Sandra Kay Cumby and Reta Sue Edwards.
James Mae's love for God and her church family compelled her to become a member of Christ Gospel Church of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and later to First Baptist Church of Pawhuska, Oklahoma where her life exemplified her love, dedication and commitments to the Lord. She will be remembered by her strength of devotion to Almighty God.
Loved ones who will forever cherish and treasure her memories are her loving family, seven sons, Wildie Carnell Blacknoll (Evie) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Reginald Kent Edwards (Jeanette) of Westland, Michigan, Donald Ray Edwards (Linda) of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Cody Dean Edwards (Sue) of Springfield Missouri, Monie Joe Edwards (Debbie) of Summit, Oklahoma, Rush Edwards III of Columbus, Ohio, and Shelton Opera Edwards of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one daughter: Jonnie Mae Edwards of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and one sister, Fern Smittick of Long Beach, California. James Mae was also blessed with 31 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 5, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Pawhuska. Interment follows in the Pawhuska City Cemetery.
